LG CX Firmware Update Analysis: Why Engaging AMD Freesync Disables Dolby Vision

We review firmware update 03.10.20 on the LG CX/ GX OLED TV, using two OLED48CX to show the difference from the earlier firmware of 03.00.70 to 03.10.20.

Another upgrade we forgot to mention with firmware 03.10.20 was that the internal pattern generator can now be used to validate HDR10 & HLG calibration.

Since we filmed this video, another firmware version 03.10.44 has gone live, which brings no change in picture performance, only some audio and maybe other improvements.

The LG 48CX on your left looked slightly out of focus, because we were using wide open lens aperture for a cleaner footage with lower ISO.

Warning: Disabling [GSR] in the service menu may increase the risk of permanent OLED screenburn.
