Why Your Containers Dry Out Fast | Adding @WakefieldBioChar to Containers

One of the biggest challenges with container gardening is that over time, the soil starts losing its ability to properly retain moisture and nutrients. Water runs right through, nutrients wash away faster, and plants end up struggling even when we’re watering and fertilizing regularly.

I recently started learning more about @WakefieldBioChar and why so many gardeners use biochar to help improve soil structure, water retention, and nutrient availability.

This is actually my first time trying it in my own garden, and I’ve started incorporating it into some of my containers and soon I’ll add some to my raised beds as well.

One thing I found really interesting is that biochar helps hold nutrients in the root zone longer instead of letting everything wash away too quickly — something that can be especially helpful for container gardens like the ones up on my deck garden. It’s a struggle to keep the soil moist during the summer but with the addition of @WakefieldBioChar it should be able to hold on to water and moisture better.

I also learned that biochar works best when it’s “charged” with nutrients and microbes first… and thankfully @WakefieldBioChar already has that covered.

If you’ve been struggling with dry containers, fast nutrient runoff, or tired garden soil… biochar might be worth looking into for your garden this season.

Have you tried biochar before? 🌿
