Scotland June 2017 NC500, Orkney, Loch Ness

Driving the NC500, visiting Orkney and Loch Ness.

I really like driving, did see some sights, but had really crappy weather (even for Scotland) while I was there, so did not get out of the car very much.

From Orkney/John 'O Groates to Loch Ness I drove in one day, the best part of the NC500 is definitely the west coast part with all the single tracks. Really doesn't matter where you point your camera, almost all the views are amazing, but some more then others.

Very surprising (to me at least) was the east side of Loch Ness, very contrasting to the more commercial west side (the A82 side). I drove round Loch Ness as a day trip, when driving up from Fort Augustus, away from the busy side, you'll be met by some beautiful scenery and some more single track/narrow roads, but NO touring cars full of tourists trying to spot the monster ;) It's a great touring route if you like driving.
