The Fed raises rates 0.25%
Fed’s interest rate forecast signals willingness to sacrifice growth to stop inflation, strategists say
The Federal Reserve raised interest rates by a quarter point, as widely expected.
The central bank also provided an interest rate forecast that was slightly more aggressive than expected, suggesting it could raise rates six more times this year.
The 2-year Treasury yield, which most reflects Fed policy, jumped to 2% for the first time since May, 2019.
