PLAYING PROS with INSANE STRATEGY (WWS)!? - Catan Strategy Analysis

Today I play Catan pros who have won multiple tournaments. We all competed at the Catan USA National Championship in 2019 with Ian Dembsky (brown), winning the whole Catan Championship. We play on a low ore board where I am stuck in the 4th position and forced to go with a non-traditional settlement placement setup.

In this game, I provide multiple Catan strategy tips sprinkled throughout the video! However, there are 3 main strategy tips that this game showcases that are taught at the end of the video.

Catan Strategy Tip #1 - ____ __ and ____ Monopoly
This is essential when you are buying a lot of development cards as you have a higher chance at drawing the monopoly. Often intermediate or advanced players get stuck without having a good opportunity to play the monopoly card, but using Tip #1 can help you avoid this situation. Don’t wait for an opportunity - create one yourself!

Catan Strategy Tip #2 - Port Strategy? ___________ is key!
Whenever using a Port strategy in Catan, I find it essential you do this. Play with the strengths of the port strategy and understand it’s weaknesses! If you can implement Tip #2 effectively then you will have a much more successful win rate when playing port strategies!

Catan Strategy Tip #3 - _____ _____!
I say this over and over again, but it’s the NUMBER 1 MISTAKE intermediate to high-level Catan players make. It’s difficult to master, yet easy to grasp the concept. Master this Catan strategy tip and you will see leaps of improvement in your Catan game.
