Acrylic Paint Pouring Mildly Dirty Galaxy Revisited Straight Pour Dirty Cup Layered Cup Combination

Hello Friends! Welcome back!

Today we are revisiting a pour I did a while back, a Mildly Dirty Galaxy. It was a very cool concept, combining a dirty cup and a layered cup, producing effects from both kinds of layering.

In the original video I made a few mistakes, I want to try it again, hopefully without the mistakes..

One of the main problems with that original pour was that there was one corner that I did not tilt, and too much paint stayed on there. After I brought it in to dry it became apparent that corner was going to crack, so I tilted it, and it did not work out well because the edges had already started to set up and dry.

My colors for this pour are:

Colors

with some Art Alchemy

Artist's Loft
- Flow Acrylic Black

My Pouring Medium is:

Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish
Paint + a bit of Water
Floetrol
There is NO Silicone
in Any of My Paint.

I start my cup with some black at the bottom and pour a few colors from up high into the cup (the dirty cup part) and then layer a few colors down the side (the layered cup part) .

I pour it onto my canvas from up high, then use some of my thinned out drips as a flow extender around the pour. I tilt it to cover the canvas.

There are some really beautiful sections in this pour, the cells are beautiful and the area at the top has so many colors! The cells are from the straight pour dirty cup part, and the ribbons of color are from the layered part.

In the beginning of the video I encourage you all to film your pours if possible. Its a valuable tool to evaluate your technique and see how you did that awesome thing, or to help you figure out why something did not work. Give it a try! Have fun!
