In this video, we showcase SmartGrid Watchdog, an IoT-based real-time electricity monitoring and fault alert system.
This project uses a NodeMCU ESP8266 and a PZEM-004T V3.0 energy meter to continuously measure key electrical parameters like voltage, current, power, energy, frequency, and power factor. The readings are sent wirelessly to a local Flask web server, which displays live data on a clean, interactive dashboard with real-time charts.
✅ Key Features:
Live voltage, current, power, energy, frequency, and PF monitoring
Emergency power failure detection with a red blinking alert screen
Abnormal conditions logging (low voltage, low power factor, power cuts) with timestamp
Stored logs for maintenance and analysis
Simple local IP access from any browser in the network
This project is perfect for students, hobbyists, and energy management enthusiasts who want to build a smart, web-based electricity meter with fault logging.
