At the moment there is no Iron Man 4 announced so if it happens it will likely not appear until probably 2024-2025, although there are a couple of major Iron Man spin-off projects for Disney Plus that will likely set up a new Iron Man for the MCU.

The heroic death of Tony Stark/Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame as he wiped Thanos and his followers from existence seemed to put an end to the possibility of further Iron Man sequels, but in Marvel comics death is rarely the end. Even if Robert Downey Jnr. doesn’t come back as Tony Stark — he was rumored for Black Widow but it didn’t happen — the name “Iron Man” could be inherited by someone else. Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) will take over from Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) in Captain America 4, so it’s possible the same could happen in Iron Man 4.

An Iron Man 4 project will likely spin off from either of the Iron Man-related Disney Plus shows Ironheart or Armor Wars, which are due to debut on the streaming service over the next couple of years. Riri Williams/Ironheart (Dominique Thorne) is generally considered to be the heir to Iron Man after Tony Stark’s death in the comics, so an “Iron Man 4” movie might star her instead.
