Scalene muscles
I keep mentioning the scalene muscles because they're useful landmarks in the neck. I reckon I should have a proper look at them so that you know what I'm talking about.
The three scalene muscles are the anterior, middle and posterior scalenes, and they run from the cervical vertebrae to the first two ribs. The anterior and middle scalene muscles form a triangular gap that the brachial plexus and subclavian artery run through.
