Poinsettia Poison Ivy Bodypaint & Makeup Tutorial

Poison Ivy get a little festive for the holidays with a Poinsettia vibe instead of her traditional green in this body painting and makeup tutorial! Learn how to paint some realistic (ish ha!) flowers with just body paint and mainly eyeshadows!

//POISON IVY HEADPIECE:
What you'll need:
1 small bunch fake poinsettias
1 spool of glitter red ribbon
1 small branch of red & gold berry's (optional)
hot glue gun
scissors
floral wire & floral tape

Start by making the shape of the hat you desire by cutting out two long strips of wire and measuring it to your head. You want it to curve around nicely starting from above one ear, and going over to the other top side.
(You are of course welcome to make this as big, small, or whatever shape you wish! Be creative with it!)
Fasten the wires together by wrapping them around each end and continue to use your head as a measuring tool. Make a "leaf" shape, where the large area will be by the ear and it will lead to a point of the top of the head.
When you have your general shape, use the floral tape to wrap around the wires to give your hat a base to glue things on top of. You may also use felt for this step, by cutting out a pieces of felt in the size that will fit over the wires.
Deconstruct the poinsettias and start at the tip, by gluing petals down overlapping each other. You want to start at the tip for that overlapped look.
Randomly between the petals to break up the color a bit, cut out a petal shaped piece of ribbon and use that in place of a petal.
When you start to get lower to the larger bottom part, glue on a full poinsettia to overlap and blend into the cascading petals.
Add some more petals and leaves to the bottom under neath the poinsettia now to complete the hat. Have the leaves facing downwards so it creates a nice blooming effect.
If you would like, add some gold berries in the center (to brighten up the middle) and some other assorted red berries to add volume around the poinsettia.
You could also do this with pinecones, glitter, or whatever your heart desires!
Finally, secure underneath the hat with some alligator clips and wa-la!
