'Go Back To India': 6-Year-Old Assaulted In Ireland Amid Disturbing Rise In Racist Attacks | Details
A six-year-old girl of Indian origin has become the latest victim of racist attacks in Ireland. Her name is Nia Naveen. Her family is originally from Kottayam in Kerala, but they’ve been living in Ireland for years.
But this isn’t a one-off. There’s been a string of such incidents lately, especially targeting the Indian community in Ireland. In another shocking case, an Indian-origin man named Lakhvir Singh was assaulted in Ballymun, a suburb of Dublin.
This comes just days after other brutal incidents. In Tallaght, a 40-year-old Indian man was beaten and stripped by a teenage gang. He was left severely traumatised.
And in another case, a 32-year-old Indian data scientist suffered a fractured cheekbone after being beaten by six teenagers near his own apartment.
Following the rise in such attacks, the Indian Embassy in Dublin has issued a safety advisory.
The spate of attacks is now triggering fear and outrage across the Indian diaspora in Ireland, with many questioning how deep the racism runs and whether enough is being done to protect migrant communities.
