Flood in Saudi Arabia: Road Trip in heavy rain and thick fog (You won't believe it!)

In this episode, we first visit the city of Al Bahah, which is a city located in the west of Saudi Arabia in the Hejaz region. This important tourist pole nicknamed "the Garden of Hejaz" because of its pleasant climate and the vast surrounding forests made us see all the colors during our passage. This "garden" was shrouded in a thick fog that prevented us from reaching the historic village of Dhee Ayn, also known as the "marble village". This 400 year old village witnessed the battles between the Ottoman Turks and its inhabitants.

As we were unable to visit the site of the Marble Village, we returned to al Baha where we decided to visit another abandoned village. It is important to know that the region has several villages and heritage monuments. Located three kilometers south of Al Baha, Al Malad Castle is known for its two imposing towers that were built for military observation to protect the village. The site is said to be over three hundred years old. Al Malad was an important place on the trade route leading to the Asir province located between Saudi Arabia and Yemen. In this episode, you will see how fog can lift in just a few minutes.

After visiting Al Malad Castle, we leave the city of Al Bahah in the direction of Abha, about 330 km away. As you can see in the images of this video, the rains that fell during our passage put a strain on the road infrastructure of this region, which was obviously not designed to receive so much rain.

Once again, we saw dozens and dozens of baboons all along our route, these living in large numbers on top of the mountains in southern Saudi Arabia.

Once in Abha, we leave for dinner in an excellent Lebanese restaurant and complete the evening at the shopping center to have dessert.
