The Unluckiest Ships Ever: The Thistlegorm and Rosalie Moller

Some shipwreck stories, like that of Titanic, Lusitania or Empress of Ireland, become legend but others get buried by history and the incredible tale of the Thistlegorm and Rosalie Moller is a perfect example of the latter! These two ships were caught up in World War 2 and hunted down by the Luftwaffe or German air force, not totally intentionally, but because the Germans were really searching for the RMS Queen Mary. Today their wrecks are beautifully preserved providing a unique look into the recent past!

Oceanliner Designs explores the design, construction, engineering and operation of history’s greatest vessels– from Titanic to Queen Mary and from the Empress of Ireland to the Lusitania. Join maritime researcher and illustrator Michael Brady as he tells the stories behind some of history's most famous ocean liners and machines!
