Produced May 2013. "Language vs. Dialect: Jamaican Patois" is a brief, independent documentary that explores the importance of language in and outside of the native country. Patois is a dynamic language/dialect that is rooted in Jamaican culture and history; it is associated with and spoken by the large majority of Jamaicans but it is still not recognized as an officially standardized language.
