Mazda was founded in 1920, but only began to make passenger cars in 1960.

The very first Mazda passenger car was the R360, and ever since its introduction, Mazda cabins have been designed around the driver.

We call our driver-centric approach to design and engineering 'Jinba Ittai'. It's the idea of car and driver, like horse and rider, as one.

In this short film, you can sit behind-the-wheel of more than 60 years of core Mazda models, observing how our craft and attention to detail has continued to evolve, but our tendency to put the driver right at the heart of the driving experience has remained constant.
