The Road Through Spain’s Dry Badlands | Scenic Drive in Aragon

A scenic POV drive through Spain’s dry badlands, from the outskirts of Zaragoza through the eroded landscapes of Valmadrid and the open roads of the A-222 in Aragon.

This 37-minute route starts on the CV-624 outside Zaragoza, leaving the industrial edge of the city and entering a dry steppe landscape of pale gypsum hills, ochre clay slopes and deeply eroded ravines. The first part of the drive follows a winding road through the Valmadrid badlands, with constant rises, curves and changes in elevation shaped by the terrain.

After crossing the Belchite area, the route opens onto the A-222, with long panoramic stretches, eroded hills and wide open horizons across Campo de Belchite. The drive moves from technical, winding badlands roads to a more hypnotic open-road section through one of Aragon’s most distinctive inland landscapes.
