Hey everyone, it's Russ and I'm out here with the Discovery 3300 from Bounty Hunter Metal Detectors. Dollar for dollar there isn't another detector on the market that has the features and abilities as this detector.

This unit will show you what the buried target is, how deep it is, eliminate unwanted targets from detection, manual and automatic ground balance, 4 tone audio ID, and an 8 inch waterproof coil.

Two questions I am most often asked about this unit are "Can it detect in water" and "can it find gold"? Yes, the coil is waterproof so you can hunt in shallow water, just take care to no submerse the control box. Will it find gold? Well keep watching and I'll show you!

Controls:

Sensitivity-Press the SENSITIVITY up or down keys to adjust your desired level of sensitivity. At the default setting, the Discovery 3300 will detect a coin-sized target at approximately 7 inches.

Discrimination-DISC is used to eliminate unwanted objects from detection. By default, your Discovery 3300 enters All Metal Mode upon power-up. To enter Discrimination mode from All Metal Mode, press the DISC/A-M key, the detector will beep twice and display 3 "R's" under the left most segments, Iron 1, 2 & 3. The "R" icons stand for REJECTED. Meaning that iron objects will not be detected.

Press the Discrimination up or down keys to adjust your desired level of discrimination. By pressing the up button an additional R will appear under the next segment, eliminating that segment from detection. The Discovery 3300 will not let you discriminate out Cu/10 cent or higher, this is to make sure you do not accidentally discriminate out high value coins and silver jewelry. By pressing the down key you will reduce the level of discrimination. With each press of the down key an illuminated R will disappear meaning that segment will now be detected.

Power-The Power button turns the unit on and off.

Ground Balance - The Ground Balance function is used to tune your detector to ground minerals present in the area you are searching.

Disc/A-M - This button allows you to switch between ALL METAL and DISCRIMINATION modes.

Pinpoint - Pinpoint is used to pinpoint the exact location of the buried target. I'll demonstrate later.

Zap - ZAP is a quick way to eliminate undesirable targets. Again, i'll demonstrate this a bit later.

Notch - is used to selectively eliminate a category of detection .I'll demonstrate this later as well.

LCD - The LCD displays all the information we as treasure hunters need to know when detecting. Let's start at the top. The arrows across the top will appear under the target category for which it is detecting. For example, if you pass the coil over an iron object an arrow will appear under either Iron 1,2, or 3. Wile if you pass the coil over a quarter, an arrow will appear under the 25 segment.

As state earlier and R under a segment means that particular segment is being rejected from detection. This can be adjusted by pressing the discrimination up or down keys.

The bar graph on the left is an on-the-fly target depth meter. Each bar coresponds to the number in inches diretly left of the bar graph.

The 3-digit number in the center of the LCD displays the numerical Target-ID of the buried object. I'll place a graphic on the video showing some common buried objects and their corresponding numerical target ID. This is something that you'll learn, the more targets you dig, so don't get too carried away with trying to memorize these numbers.

Below this 3 digit target ID you'll see one of the following. ALL METAL, DISCRIMINATION, NOTCH and PINPOINT. This lets you know what mode you are currently in.
