SWFL Eagles ~ Owl Strikes M15 w/ Talons Out Knocking Him Off The Attic! F23 To Nest Vocal 😲 11.20.23

The footage begins with the male Great Horned Owl arriving to the nest edge hooting & calling for his mate. He enters the nest and continues his calling - then will head to the veranda tip and fly off. But the owls are out and very active tonight and they could be heard hooting for some time.

Right before the owl strike, hooting is heard and we see an owl flyby over the nest. Noises are heard and then M15 tries to land on the attic but the owl is already in attack mode with its powerful talons outstretched and knocks M15 backwards off the attic. The owl just missed grabbing M15's face as M turned aside in that split second. M15 went downward along with the owl. F23 lands on the nest in high alert screaming. M15 lands on the attic and then he drops to the nest to stand by F23 - both on high alert guarding their nest. They remain on the nest for some time - then F23 will go to the veranda & up to the attic. M15 remains on the nest. In regular time and slo-mo from different angles from the 360 cam & cam 1. It is scary to see the owls becoming more aggressive as they perceive the eagles are taking over their nest and domain.

While processing this video, F23 was also struck by an owl this evening when she was on the attic. She flew off and has not returned yet. M15 is remaining on the nest to defend it. Thank you for watching!
