In Germany, these self-controlled model cars are very famous. They are called » Faller Car System « or » Infracar « or » Digital Controlled Car System « or simply » DC Car «. Normally, these cars are made for model railroad layouts in HO scale. But these model cars are built in N Scale (1:160) or N Gauge.

These model cars are an enrichment or asset to any model train layout. A battery, headlights and the entire (digital) control system is installed into the model car. And, a metal strip is installed invisible beneath the road. The metal strip dictates the possible ways. But the model car is driving autonomous; there is no radio remote control.
