Ocarina of Time worked the same as every 3D Zelda minus Breath of the Wild, where you beat bosses to earn Heart Containers - each one increasing your total hearts by one. and then beat secret puzzles, side quests or challenges to earn Pieces of Heart - four of which make a new Heart Container.
There are 36 Heart Containers in Ocarina of Time, and the stuff you have to do to get them ranges from horseback archery challenges to gardening.This can net you an additional 9 hearts, on top of the regular 11 - meaning you can get 20 hearts in total while playing the game in the standard way.
But today, as the title says, we’re looking at a 37th Heart Piece that’s impossible to get through normal play, and was left in the game by the developers.
