"Open Up Your Heart (And Let The Sunshine In)" & "It Is No Secret" by Stuart Hamblen

from the 1956 album, "It Is No Secret." Mama taught me this song as a child..."So let the sunshine in, face it with a grin. Smilers never lose and frowners never win. So let the sunshine in, face it with a grin, open up your heart and let the sunshine in!" A 40's country music and radio star named Stuart Hamblen, known for drinking and womanizing, wrote the song. It wasn't until after he got saved did he start writing gospel songs, and quit doing the things he used to. He spent the rest of his life telling people about the salvation found solely in Christ, the ultimate sunshine. It comes straight off his 1956 album titled "It Is No Secret," named for another of his famous songs that says, "It is no secret what God can do, what He's done for others, He'll do for you. With arms wide open, He'll pardon you. It is no secret what God can do." It is no secret what God did for Hamblen, me and what He can do for you!
