Once a bustling town, Dhanushkodi was devastated by the 1964 cyclone and is now considered a “ghost town” with a surreal charm. It lies at the southern tip of Rameswaram Island, where the Bay of Bengal meets the Indian Ocean. This area is steeped in mythology, believed to be the place where Lord Rama’s army began building the Ram Setu (Adam’s Bridge) to Sri Lanka.
