Horizon Zero Dawn - Aloy's Odyssey

This game is viewed as a classic in it's own right and to tell the truth for the first 10-15 hours I was very underwhelmed. The start of the game is a very slow burn but also I wasn't fully plugged in to the combat system yet. Around the half point it all started clicking for me and I could understand why the game received so much praise.

Around the halfway point rumours online said there was a Horizon Zero Dawn remake/remaster for PS5 in the works and I thought maybe I should have waited. However, I had a bunch of fun anyway. I'm not usually for these kind of remakes/remaster as I often see them as cash grabs but there was some jankyness I would come across from time to time with animations and button prompts that could be addressed. Graphically, I think the game still looks great but having seen what Guerilla have done with Forbidden West can still be improved.

The combat variety and enemies types are the standout, as an open world game it follows the rule of thumb and does everything an open world should do.

I had low expections for Aloy as I had seen online she was described as boring, I actually quite liked her. She tough, yet compassionate and her story got more and more interesting as time progressed.
