On June 23, 1868, a patent was granted by the US patent office to C Latham Sholes, Carlos Glidden and Samuel Soule of Milwaukee. While you would likely be familiar with its modern counterpart, the device itself sees very little use today. And yet, that patent changed the world in so many ways, and likely affects almost all of you on a daily basis.
