A Debian-Based Commercial Linux Desktop From The 2000s - Xandros Linux

In this video, we're taking a look at Xandros Desktop 3 Deluxe Edition, a commercial Linux distribution from the early 2000s.

Xandros traces its roots back to Corel Linux after Corel sold its Linux business. Built on Debian and powered by the KDE desktop environment, Xandros aimed to make Linux more approachable for everyday users by offering a familiar desktop experience for users coming from Windows.

While the original Xandros Desktop product line was eventually discontinued, the Xandros name later returned through Xandros Enterprise Linux, a modern enterprise-focused Linux distribution. In 2023, the project announced both Xandros Enterprise Linux 2023.07 and the release of Xandros CoreOS Alpha 1.
