Instructions -
1. Use an insert from your traveler's notebook as a template to cut a 12x12 paper of your choice down to the correct size for your folder insert. In this video, I cut the paper to these measurements - 10.5 inches x 8.25 inches. This will be the cover of your pocket insert. Fold this paper in half.

2. Cut a 12x12 paper of your choice to the same width as the paper you cut in step 1 (in this video - 10.5 inches). You can choose whatever height you prefer your pockets to be on the inside your insert cover. I cut mine to be 4.25 inches tall.

3. Place the red sticky tape on the left, right, and bottom edges of the paper you cut down in step 2, on the inside of the pocket (the side that will not be showing).

4. Carefully remove the backing of the tape and stick your pocket down in place on the inside of your insert cover. I recommend removing the backing of just one side first, sticking that down, and then removing the other backing after. This tape is very sticky, so take your time placing it down.

5. Cut a piece of vellum to the same size as your insert cover created in step 1, and then fold in half around your insert cover.

6. This is the part where you get to choose how you want your vellum pockets shaped. In this video, I chose to create a "V" shaped pocket on the front of my insert. To do this, use a pencil to draw a small dot at the center of the insert, wherever you want the bottom of the "V" to sit. Then use a ruler to draw the sides of the "V" to meet the edges of your insert.

7. Flip your folded insert over so the back of the insert is facing you with the other half of the vellum. In this video, I chose a simple diagonal pocket for this side. At this point, I removed the vellum from the insert, unfolded it and laid it faced down on my surface. I used a ruler to draw a diagonal line from the edge of the "V" on my front pocket to the other edge of the vellum.

8. Use scissors to cut along the lines you drew to create the top of your vellum pockets. When folded around your insert cover, the vellum creates two pockets, one on the front of your insert, and one on the back. You can use washi tape of your choice to decorate (and re-inforce) the top of each pocket.

9. At this point, you are ready to line the left, right, and bottom edges of the inside of the vellum sheet with the red sticky tape. Remove the backing of the tape on one edge and stick down in place, and then remove the backing of the tape along the bottom edge and carefully wrap the vellum around your insert cover. Lastly, remove the backing of the tape on the last edge and place down.

10. Decorate your new pocket insert with embellishments of your choice.

11. Add pom pom trim along the inside edges of your insert to create a fun element to stick out of your traveler's notebook. The red sticky tape works great for holding ribbon on as well.
