Story and Setting
Aphelion is set in the near-future, around the 2060s, when Earth is becoming uninhabitable. Humanity sends astronauts to explore Persephone, a newly discovered ice-covered planet at the edge of the solar system, inspired by the real-world Planet Nine hypothesis. Players follow two astronauts, Ariane Moncler and Thomas Cross, who crash on Persephone and are separated. The game focuses on their struggle to survive, reunite, and uncover the planet’s mysteries, with each character offering a unique perspective on the story and gameplay.
