Why is my gear shift harder?
When a shifter becomes hard to move, it is usually the interlock cable. AKA, shift cable. This cable slides in housing and connects directly to the transmission. When this cable becomes worn, it gets hard to move inside the housing.

Why is it hard to put my car in second gear?
Transmission shifting hard issues can occur due to the presence of impurities in the transmission fluid. This also goes for using the wrong fluid for your transmission system. If the fluid is not right or is contaminated or changes the original color, you have to flush it
