Tesla’s deliveries are out: Tesla delivered 139,300 vehicles beating Wall Street’s consensus of about 137,000, but short of optimistic expectations of over 145,000. Yesterday, I stated that if Tesla delivered under 140,000 vehicles, the stock was likely to drop. If Tesla delivered more than 150,000 vehicles, the stock was likely to increase. This was because of build in expectations that Tesla usually beats - unfortunately Tesla didn’t beat as much as expected AND with Trump’s covid diagnosis, Tesla is down about 5% today. I did buy some Tesla this morning in my 1337v11 portfolio which is linked below for you to compare to. Now while Tesla did manufacture 145,036 vehicles meaning just under 6000 vehicles were added to inventories - Elon Musk mentioned on twitter that there were some logistical nightmares Tesla was dealing with likely explaining the additional 6000 vehicles in inventories. Remember though, based on my prior fundamental analyzes on Tesla, I strongly believe that Tesla is just at the beginning of its exponential growth curve. After all, Tesla’s goal is to manufacturer and deliver 500,000 vehicles by the end of 2021 and over 2 million vehicles by the end of 2022 with over 20 million vehicles by the end of the decade. With 140,000 vehicles delivered in a quarter, we’re now at an annual pace of 560,000 deliveries. This comes at the same time as Fiat Crysler, Ford, and GM’s sales have all declined an average of 7%. On 4 new cars: Tesla is expecting to compete with a smaller vehicle in both the German and Chinese markets. Tesla is heavily advertising for support services, design, and design management for vehicles in China and in Germany a more compact hatchback car is expected. This may come as Bloomberg posted that Tesla will have to compete with a Tiny $5,000 electric car in China. Here’s what that tiny car looks like. This is a petite electric vehicle that sells for less than $5,000 and it’s the Hongguang Mini EV This EV starts at just $4,230 and has the ability to run for 106 miles on a single charge - 30,000 units of this car sold out in just 50 days. These custom models for the Chinese and German regions are unlikely to reach the United States. In addition to these 2 region cars which would almost certainly be manufactured at Tesla’s gigafafctory Berlin and Shangai, Tesla is planning to release a $25,000 car, potential a model #2, in the United States by 2023. This is all in addition to the high-end Tesla Model S Plaid that was announced on battery day for $139,900 with an impressive 500 mile range and 0-60 speed in under 2 seconds. These 4 new cars would all to Tesla’s existing vehicle lineups of SEXY CARS. On pricing: Tesla has just increased the cost of their PowerWall home backup battery by $500. Tesla earlier this year announced it has installed 100,000 power walls. Tesla also reduced the price of their solar roof.
