No it's not free as in free beer and yes, it is indeed a confusing way to describe it! Basically, 'royalty Free' means that royalties don't have to be paid to the creator each time it's used nor do you need to renew a license every X amount of years. In other words, it is free of 'synch' royalties when you buy a license meaning you can use it in your production forever without paying again.

DO I HAVE TO BUY A LICENSE FOR EVERY VIDEO I MAKE?
No, if it is for a series then you only purchase one standard license and you can use it in all your videos on YouTube, forever.

HOW ABOUT IF I JUST GIVE YOU CREDIT INSTEAD OF BUYING A LICENSE?
Appreciate the honest, but unfortunately, no. When you only give credit to us, it doesn't protect you from any copyright infringement which might arise in accordance to international law. By purchasing a license, you are showing YouTube that you have the rights to use our music on your videos.
