Hipodromo, Cebu City, Philippines- this video was taken at Barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City. This used to be part of Barangay Mabolo. The area was frequented by horse racing aficionados and eventually a real race track called Hippodrome was constructed and became very popular to Cebuanos. After the war it became unprofitable and apparently priorities shifted. And this explains on its horse racing shape as seen from above. The barangay was then formed when a big fire hit Carreta and T. Padilla in the late 1950's and made Hippodrome as a relocation site.
