Multipurpose Ammunition - Developing the Impossible
It was the ammunition that shouldn´t have worked, but did. In defiance of accepted science at the time, Raufoss engineers in the 1960s managed to create explosive ammunition that did not require mechanical fuses or detonators, the technology that led to the round known today as the "Raufoss" NM 140/Mk 211. But few today know why it was developed, or that for the first 30 years of its existence, no one knew exactly how it worked. This mini-documentary gives a brief glimpse into the incredible story behind Multipurpose ammunition, including an interview with one of its original designers.
