r/entitledpeople - OP is visiting the US from Ireland and is invited to a friend's home for dinner, who are of Irish descent but have never been to Ireland. Upon greeting, OP is told off by the dad that his "Irish" accent is horrible and offensive, and to stop pretending that he's Irish. OP tries to argue that no, he is in fact Irish and that's his natural accent! The dad then tells him he's not getting any dinner until OP starts talking like the rest of them. So OP does .. and fakes an American accent for the rest of the evening!
