It's not something that most meteorologists think about on a daily basis, but did you know that PI is foundational to most meteorological models? That's because the Earth is a sphere, so weather systems follow its curvature as they travel across the surface. Remember Πr2?
Perhaps you also remember that pi's decimal representation is infinite and non-repeating? For fun, we asked a few of our teammates to see how many decimal places they could name. See how well they did.
