What is "embracing authenticity"? According to Andrew Lee, we've greatly misunderstood the answer to this question. Lee draws on research from organizational behavior professor Herminia Ibarra as well as Buddhist thought to demonstrate that the self in itself is an ever-changing entity. What it means to embrace oneself authentically will vary at each stage or even each moment of one's life. The struggle to embrace authenticity is lifelong. Andrew Lee is a Junior at the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. On campus, he serves as the president of the Griswold House and prides himself on creating an enjoyable environment in and around the house. He is also a big sports fan and writes for The Lawrence (the student newspaper), mostly covering basketball and fighting. He enjoys learning and applying different wellness and psychology topics such as the science of sleep, the cultural significance of Christianity, flow-state, and optimal modes of language learning.
