Tower cam will be replaced on Tuesday 14rh November. It will provide much clearer images with better zoom and pan capabilities. BUT there will be an outage for possibly two days before the image is available on YouTube.

The nestlings (Marri, female and Barru, male) are now 42 and 41 days old, so could fledge any time this week (average age of fledge here is 42 days). Males usually fledge first. Down is almost gone. The nestlings are now full grown.
After they fledge, they may return to the box after a few days (or not) . Either way they stay in the area for a month or two learning to hunt. And the parents still feed them during this period if needed.

LAST SEASON
Two chicks last year: Indigo and Rubus, both males. Indigo dispersed after Diamond blocked his entry to the nest box on 18th March. Rubus died of a flying accident nine days after fledging.

GENERAL INFORMATION
This is a research project through Charles Sturt University, Orange, New South Wales Australia, studying the diet and use of a nest box of a family of peregrines living in water tower since 2007. We now have nine years' worth of diet and seven years of behavior data The cams go right through the year and are in daily use. More information can be found below the chat rules.
