吹雪の日のフブキ　　Fubuki in blizzard チンパンジー　　多摩動物公園

朝の気温は1度から始まりました。少しは上がるだろうと期待していましたが、終日そう変わらず足の指先までしんしんと寒い1日でした。アフリカの動物のチンパンジーにとってはさぞかし寒かったと思います。予報より遅く降り始めた雪は朝から夕方まで降り雨に変わりました。　こういう日に動物園に来る人はよほどの動物好きな人たちなので、数少ない来園者はほとんど知っている人ばかりでした。

屋根の下で遊んでいることが皆多かったのですが、そこで朝からマリナにちょっかいをだしていたフブキのおかげでひと騒動あり、イブキが危なくケガをしそうでしたが、素晴らしいモモコお母さんの救出のおかげでイブキは無事モモコの手に戻りました。誰も悪気はなかったのですが、マックスやジン、デッキーもからんでちょっと冷や冷やした瞬間です。飼育員さんも声にびっくりして出てきて我々と状況確認していました。皆、無事で良かったです。この日はマックスはマリナとずっと毛づくろい、デッキーはフブキともジンとも遊び、ときたまフブキは2頭に嫉妬して邪魔をしていました。ジンは木の枝でフブキをつついていました。教育的指導ですかね。静かで雪が吹雪いてとてもきれいな日でした。

Temperature started from 1 degree in the morning. I hoped it will rise little more, however it did not rise much. It was freezing until the end of the day. Although there is a roof where we can watch Chimps near window, there is no door or heating. So, it was freezing anyway. I am sure Chimps felt more freezing especially those who came from Africa.

Many of them stayed under the roof for a while, but boys went out to play once in a while. There was a moment all of us who were maniac enough to come to the zoo the day like this freaked out. Fubuki was teasing Marina whole morning. At one point Marina was not too happy, and started having problem with Fubuki, then Max, Gin, and Decky joined a commotion while Ibuki was still playing on the ground away from Momoko. We were so worried that the possibility of Ibuki get kicked by males running around, but super great mother Momoko scooped Ibuki so fast to save and he was on his mother's chest soon. If you watch in a slow motion, you will see Ibuki once holding onto Max's leg and Max freaked out and Ibuki was on his back on the ground and Momoko scooped him right away. We were all so relieved that Ibuki did not get injured in the middle of commotion. There was no bad intention, but many of them were running around. Chimp staff heard screams and came out worried and checked out with us what has happened looking at videos. Fubuki started this, but he also freaked out by commotion. Fubuki was not happy since Decky played with Gin a lot and he was bit jealous of Gin taking his Decky away. Gin hit Fubuki with small stick at one point. He was teaching Fubuki not to throw things to someone. I laughed at them. Their interaction is small social world just like ours. So much to learn. What so great about them is that no matter how much they argued, they do not hold grudges to each other afterword unlike us human. They were great to see during the snow and gloomy day. Fubuki's name means blizzard, so this is his day.
