Life cycle of Butterfly 😊

🐣 1. Egg

A butterfly starts its life as a tiny egg.
Female butterflies lay eggs on the leaves of plants.
Each egg is very small and may be round, oval, or cylindrical in shape.
Inside the egg, a baby caterpillar begins to grow.

🐛 2. Larva (Caterpillar)

When the egg hatches, a caterpillar (larva) comes out.
The caterpillar’s main job is to eat and grow.
It eats leaves continuously and sheds its skin several times as it grows.
This stage is all about storing energy for the next phase.

🧵 3. Pupa (Chrysalis)

After growing enough, the caterpillar forms a protective covering called a chrysalis (pupa stage).
Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar undergoes a complete transformation.
Its body changes into a butterfly—this is called metamorphosis.
This stage may last several days or weeks depending on the species.

🦋 4. Adult Butterfly

Finally, an adult butterfly emerges from the chrysalis.
Its wings are soft and wet at first, so it rests to let them dry and expand.
The butterfly then starts flying, feeding on nectar, and reproducing.
The cycle begins again when it lays eggs.
