Injured fisherman airlifted to hospital by Humberside Coastguard helicopter

An injured fisherman was airlifted to hospital in the early hours of this morning by the Humberside Coastguard helicopter – which incidentally was their third call out in under 24 hours.
Just after midnight HM Coastguard Operations Centre Humber received a Mayday call from a fishing vessel 3NM West by North from Hunstanton, heading for Kings Lynn Harbour reporting that one of their crew had sustained a suspected broken leg and needed urgent medical assistance.
The HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Humberside was sent in alongside the Skegness RNLI All Weather Lifeboat.
The casualty was transferred to the Lifeboat and was then winched onboard the Coastguard helicopter. He was flown to Boston Pilgrim Hospital where Wrangle and Sutton Bridge Coastguard Rescue Teams set up a helicopter landing site. We wish him a speedy recovery.
