Liam's 3rd Grade Art and Academic Fair Project - Ultrasonic Acoustic Levitation (pt 1)

This was the first successful levitation we had with this proof of concept. It uses two 16mm, 40khz transducers driven by an Arduino Uno microcontroller to create a standing wave between the transducers. At that point, small, light objects can be levitated at the node between the waves. The next step will be to create a structure that would control the spacing between the transducers more accurately. Also we will be driving the transducers with a high frequency motor controller in order to up the voltage to 9 VDC from the 5VDC provided by the microcontroller board. Lastly we will add transducers to the array in a semisphere to create a focused area of low pressure with hopes of levitating larger or heavier objects.
