BALI - VLOG 3 : LOVINA DOLPHINS + GITGIT WATERFALL + PURA ULUN DANU BRATAN TEMPLE + CRATER LAKES

n our previous vlogs about Bali we talked about Ubud with its beautiful rice fields, the Monkey Forest and the many beautiful temples that Bali has to offer. We also visited Tenganan, a traditional Balinese village, the Royal Water Palace and the mother of all temples in Bali, namely Pura Besakih.

Today we leave the town of Candidasa in the east and travel to the black lava beaches of the seaside resort of Lovina. Lovina is said to be derived from the English word 'Love' and Ina means 'Mother' in Balinese. We spend the night at The Lovina Bali Resort. From here we can spot dolphins but also a number of crater lakes are a beautiful natural phenomenon. There are also a number of waterfalls and again beautiful temples.

Pura Ulun Danu Bratan is an iconic temple located on the shores of Lake Bratan. This is one of the most photographed temples in Bali and you will soon understand why. The two towers seem to float on the water and create a picturesque picture against the background of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Especially at sunset this gives fantastic images that could be on a postcard. Stroll through the beautiful gardens or take a boat trip on the lake.
There are still a number of active volcanoes on Bali. The volcanoes on Bali have created crater lakes over the centuries. One of them is Lake Bratan or Danau Bratan. This lake is sacred to many Balinese. Surrounded by beautiful plants in the breathtaking landscape lies the temple complex Pura Ulun Danu Bratan. Not for nothing the most photographed temple in Bali. The temple complex Pura Bratan is also used to make offerings for the well-being of the lake and the surrounding agriculture.
The collapse of a primeval crater millions of years ago created the 2 crater lakes Danau Buyan & Danau Tamblingan. This area is extremely suitable for walks.
The GitGit waterfalls are considered the most beautiful waterfalls in Bali. 35 meters down the water plunges into a basin surrounded by jungle plants.
Keep Lovina as a stop during a tour and stay here for a few nights. Especially to enjoy the nature and the crater lakes.
