🟥 India's first indigenously built Air Cushion Vehicle H561 has been formally inducted into the Indian Coast Guard at Goa, designed to glide over water mud sand and ice without touching the surface, enabling coastal patrol maritime surveillance and search and rescue operations in shallow waters that conventional vessels cannot access.

👉 Coastal infiltration through shallow creeks and mudflats has long been one of India's biggest maritime security vulnerabilities. The 26/11 Mumbai attackers exploited a similar weakness, and the H561 hovercraft is designed to close that gap by enabling surveillance and rapid response in areas inaccessible to conventional vessels.

📌 Pakistan and Bangladesh both have extensive shallow creek networks that have historically been used by smugglers and infiltrators because large patrol vessels cannot operate effectively there. India's indigenous hovercraft capability now allows security forces to monitor and patrol these challenging coastal zones.
