I found my way into a mannequin window at Macy’s! Navigation challenges when you’re blind!

This is the fourth video in my six video series of me shopping at the mall with Guide dog Arabella. In four of the six videos I am demonstrating how I use my Aira smart glasses to navigate through the complicated mall, but in this video, I unfortunately wasn’t able to use my glasses because there was no cell signal inside Macy’s. This video provides you contrast to navigating with virtual and human assistance, versus what it’s like to shop completely blind in an unfamiliar place trusting your own skills and the skills of your guide dog. I’m not saying it cannot be done on your own, I definitely do it all the time in familiar places, but when you are somewhere you never been before, or a place you’ve never trained your dog on finding, it definitely is a lot more challenging. I am all about showing the world where there is a will there is always a way. You just have to be confident, determined, remain calm, and choose a joyful attitude even when your joy is tested.

PS. And always remember there are wonderful people in this world who are more than willing to lend a helping hand, or in my case, a set of helping eyes right when you need them most! God always puts these special angels in my path at the right time. The Macy’s sales associate Haley was so amazing!
