Using GPS and Bringing the Data into GIS
This webinar demonstrates how to use a consumer-grade GPS receiver to collect data and then bring that data into both QGIS (free and open source) and ArcGIS. DNRGPS (free!) is demonstrated as a tool for downloading and transforming GPS data into projected shapefile format. Steps covered will also allow participants to prepare data for use with online mapping programs such as ArcGIS Online and Google Maps.
