My favourite wrench from PIPEVISE!

Welcome back to the channel today’s video is all about the pipevise amigo slim wrench! This wrench is a self setting adjustable wrench that uses a pivot and tension mechanism to open and close onto whatever you’re trying to hold as long as it fits within the jaws. The teeth are super sharp they hold anything that goes inside once the head is locked down they do not slip. They do hold very very firm because of this automatic action. It also can be used in a ratchet sort of form where the head opens up and when you go to loosen the head turns and then clamps back down when you tighten this makes it extremely efficient when screwing in pipework such as iron and steel and also doing up brass fittings .

Voice make many different types of this wrench or different types of sizes lengths but as a domestic plumber, I find that the amigo slim to be the best for me. The different variations they have are a longer version which is classed as the amigo slim L they have a thicker headed version which is just a plain amigo and also a XL version which is even longer in length. It’s good that the company designed multiple different styles of the wrench as there are many applications where these can be used.  they do not only have big spanners but they also have tiny little wrenches.

Pipevise are well known for the vise they make which is extremely good for making up fittings out of place. I like to also use it for holding copper while I’m soldering as it’s a variable size head and allows me to open it up for 50 mm 22 and even 28. The standard amigo is the same head style as the vise which basically makes it a hand portable version.

 the amigo slim is the wrench that I carry in my day-to-day tool bag it’s the one that I used the most like I said especially as being a domestic plumber and the type of things that I use it for a holding valves and doing up big compression nuts. In the UK, the most common isolator valve used as a ball o fix valve. The amigo slim is a tad too big I feel as a lot of the range on the spanner isn’t used. I wish they make a head size between the amigo and the stubby small version. What I mainly use the amigo Slim four is holding 22 mm compression valves as it’s the perfect size for leave valves gate valves and even stop taps which are one of the most trickiest valve to hold while getting a nice firm grip to tighten. I’m pretty sure this size also can handle 28 mm compression. I vaguely remember myself using it on one in the past!
