Chapters or something....

00:00 - 05:18 - About The Nevers, the costume designers (Michele Clapton and Jane Petrie), and Delineator magazines
05:18 - 08:27 - Amalia Ture's Plum and Green Eton Jacket and Skirt from Episode 1
08:28 - 15:50 - Penance Adair's Pink & Plaid Party Look from Episode 2
15:51 - 21:34 - Amalia True's Black Shirtwaist and Green Split Skirt (Episode 3) from the best fight scene of all time omg with special guest her corset that has gorgeous wheat embroidery on it and also a plea to the scriptwriters for a golf course fight scene so I can watch True go nuts with a putter k thanks.
21:35 - 22:16 - Outtakes

I've been a fan of Michele Clapton since Game of Thrones (she is, quite seriously, the only reason why Dany's descent into madness could make sense (it doesn't, but her costuming of Dany helps tell the story better than the script could....anyways, I digress...)

so Michele Clapton...right...ok...so I started watching the new HBO show the Nevers a few weeks ago and instantly became obsessed, and when I found out that Michele Clapton was the designer of the show, I just about lost my mind. I've been impressed with the historical accuracy of the show and its attention to detail in its portrayal of Victorian London. So much so, that I decided to put myself to the challenge of trying to find exact matches to the costumes worn by True and Adair in The Delineator magazines from the same years that the tv show takes place. Turns out...their costumes are surprisingly historically accurate, even if Michele says that they're not always correct.

So in this video, we're going to discuss the historical accuracy of the costumes in the Nevers, have a deep look at late Victorian women's fashion, and wish that we could actually just order these sewing patterns from 1899.

Also @Bernadette Banner has a whole video devoted to the epic fights scenes in corsets from this show and 10/10 recommend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rJNLwpIBVA&t=1s
