Janelle Monáe's Talks Her Pansexuality, Prince, and Finding Your Purpose

We talked to the SAG Award winner, Grammy nominee, musican, actor and icon who is Janelle Monáe, who spent about THIRTY minutes with us (we were supposed to have like, ten).

She talked moving to Atlanta and working with Big Boi and Diddy, the best story about how she met her mentor, Prince (he called her...and she almost didn't believe it was him), and that she still feels his presence.

We get into her new album, "Dirty Computer," (get it, here) and she says she feels she was meant to have made this album before the last...and how, when she makes something, at some point, she has to be at peace with creation and let it go out into the world.

She also opens up about her pansexuality (and how she chooses to love and love freely), what she wants to be remembered for, and how - for her - getting in touch with your purpose in life is important.
