HOW TO HAND TIE YOUR QUILT AND NOT USE BINDING

In this tutorial, I show you ow to hand tie your quilt with yarn and not use binding to finish the edges.

You can also use ribbon as a substitute for the yarn if that's all you have. I have used both yarn and ribbon to tie quilts and they both work great. Sometimes you don't have time or just don't feel like quilting a large quilt. This is a wonderful method that has been used for many years to make quilts and finish them.

Growing up, this is the way that I remember my Mom making quilts. She still does this to this day, since she doesn't really have any interest in learning free motion quilting.

Larger quilts are more difficult to work with and I find that this method is really good for beginner quilters to start with. It gives your quilt a nice finish, while preserving your design. I hope that you enjoy learning a different way of quilting!
