Bereaved Father Talks About Suicide Risk Assessment

My son Tom took his own life in July 2020 the day after he was assessed as low risk of suicide. He was 26 years old. Of the 17 people who take their own lives every day in this country, five are in contact with mental health services and four of those five, that is 80%, are assessed as low or no risk of suicide at their last contact.
