SA MATA KO MAKITA is an adaptation/translation of the song "SA MATA MAKIKITA" which was popularized by Roel Cortez in the 1980s. Cebuano lyrics was written by Chraize Borromeo. Music is from SA MATA MAKIKITA.

As a tribute to Roel Cortez, born 'Roel Corpuz', a Filipino singer, and songwriter from Meycauayan, Bulacan. His songs, "Napakasakit, Kuya Eddie", "Sa Mata Makikita", and "Iniibig Kita" are his greatest songs that brought him to fame in the 1980s. He changed his surname 'Corpuz' to 'Cortez'.
He was married to Corazon Corpuz and they have eight children.
He suffered colon cancer which was already in stage four and the doctors said that even if he will take medications, he will not live long.
